Movie Database Project

Movie Database Project is a focused lookup tool built around TMDB data. The important word is focused. The goal is not to recreate a general-purpose movie encyclopedia. The goal is to support a specific entertainment workflow where fast recall, scanning, and metadata are more useful than endless browsing.

The project uses TypeScript, React, Next.js, the TMDB API, and Vercel. TMDB provides the broad movie data. The app's job is to decide which parts of that data matter for the user workflow and how quickly a person can get from search to decision. That makes the interface more like decision support than passive discovery.

The hardest design challenge is resisting encyclopedic completeness. Movie APIs can return a lot of information. A focused helper should not show everything just because it can. It should show the details that help the user make the current decision. The narrower the workflow, the more opinionated the interface can be.
