This Very Blog

This blog is itself a project worth documenting. Built with Astro using the blog starter template as a base, it grew into a full-featured personal site with a projects portfolio, custom theming, and several interactive features.

The core stack is Astro with MDX for content, deployed to GitHub Pages via a GitHub Actions workflow. On top of that foundation the site adds KaTeX math rendering, dual-theme syntax highlighting, view transitions, and a client-side search system for both the blog index and tags pages.

The more distinctive features came from my interests: live p5.js generative art sketches embedded directly in posts, interactive math figures using Mafs, and Strudel live coding embeds for music patterns. Images are hosted on Cloudinary with automatic format optimization.

The design uses a lime green accent color with warm gray backgrounds in light mode and near-black in dark mode, with the Syne font for headings. The homepage has animated p5.js backgrounds in the hero and featured post sections.
